Modern Baking magazine recognized Alpha Delights as a business to take note of even before the young business' doors were opened! In a feature story about the business the magazine wrote:

"Mary Pappas and her husband, Rick Martens, were delighted by the excellent and intimate bakery cafe's they discovered on a trip in 1993 to Greece. "I said to Rick, 'I want to open a pastry shop!'" Pappas laughs. "I was being playful, but eventually it grew to be a passion."

Three years ago, Pappas began to pursue the dream. Then in April 2000, she left her job in corporate communications and began an intense, yearlong research project that garnered her national industry attention.

Today, at Alpha Delights Bakery and Cafe' Pappas sees her vision coming to life. The bakery is a comfortable and colorful place, while being elegant, with a luxurious European village style different from anything else in town."
